MTAA has been present very visibly at the World AIDS Day on 1 december in Kakamega. From their own marketstand MTAA workers were active with publicity, demonstrations and counseling.

Great honour for founder MTAA
The 20th of October Gertrude Lwanga received official recognition for her work in the community. President Kenyatta acclaimed her – with 200 other people chosen from all over Kenya – a Shujaa (hero).
Soroptimists support MTAA
Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement working together to transform the lives of women and girls. In the Netherlands the Soroptimistclub Zwolle has recently donated thousand euros to MTAA.
Educational training of HIV-positive adolescents
In December 37 boys and girls attended with their caregivers the MTAA Youth Friendly Program. They discussed challenges faced by the youths in school and at home. Most important was the sharing of testimonies and individual counseling.
New donation
We are very happy the German donor Grace Impact has decided to support MTAA. This organisation supports philanthropic projects and organizations and invests in social impact companies in Africa, Europe and North America.
Benefit dinner results in 10.000 euro
In July MTAA Nederland organised a benefit dinner for MTAA Kenya. The evening started with a mix of appetizers from around the world; of course the traditional Kenyan ugali (maize ball) could not be missed.
Ambitious plans
To build a new and own centre for MTAA Kenya has been a longstanding wish. Last year the first steps have been takento accomplish this.
Support from Wilde Ganzen
Since the beginning of 2018 MTAA receives the support of the Dutch foundation Wilde Ganzen (Wild Geese). This organisation supports projects against poverty worldwide.
Amsterdam Marathon: EUR 3000 for MTAA
On October 16 – a bright and sunny day – sixteen people ran the Amsterdam Marathon raising money for MTAA collecting EUR 3000. A great success of this sixth marathon for MTAA!
Seropositive Youth becomes ambassador for positive life with HIV
Since April 2016 MTAA has been training HIV-positive adolescents (10-18 years). They form the first generation who were infected from birth and have survived thanks to medication. These trainings were realised thanks to a generous donation of a Dutch friend and another important donor.
