In June 65 adolescents and their parents or caretakers took part in a MTAA-workshop. Covid-19 causes extra tensions in these families.

As a result more conflicts arise, and sometimes a counseling session is needed to make things in the family work again. Violence or abuse – against girls but also against boys – may even occur. Therefore there’s a need for a rescue center within Mumias East Sub-County, to support children in abusive families for a period of time.Caregivers shared that they have seen a huge positive change in the adolescents since they were enrolled into MTAA Youth Friendly program.
